The visit will start at the Grand-Place to present the important milestones in its history. The square was not built from scratch, but is the result of a succession of constructions and transformations that have given it its present form. The example of “La Balance” is no exception. The evolution of this house will be discussed through historical texts and archaeological analysis. The visit to the cellar will be guided by the team that studied it as part of the ongoing archaeological, architectural and historical study of cellars and basement rooms in Brussels. An exhibition will present this ambitious project on the ground floor.
